After writing the diptych of The Three Musketeers directed by Martin Bourboulon, Alexandre de la Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte tackle another cult work by Alexandre Dumas and step behind the camera this time with real visual and musical ambition. The original score entrusted to Jérôme Rebotier (Le Prénom, Le meilleur reste à venir) is a central element of the film, with powerful and epic orchestral themes (Le trésor) balanced by darker, more introspective compositions (Le Chateau d'If). We find the song by Haydée Dorul, a highlight of the film full of sensitivity.
