Jenn Champion returns with an album featuring synthetic sounds that evoke 80s pop. On "Single Rider," Jenn Champion brings all her skills and vulnerabilities, but this is not a record for wallowing in self-pity: it’s a record made for eye contact on the dance floor. With this album, Champion takes a more pop direction and ventures into more electronic sounds than on her previous records. Thus, on this album, Jenn Champion has gradually moved away from guitars to start playing synthesizers, giving "Single Rider" a more 80s sound. Brian Fenell, known for his musical project SYML, helped produce this new album and broadened Jenn Champion's musical horizons, delivering pop songs with 80s influences.
