Jeanne Cherhal continues her unique path, always staying true to a deeply personal French chanson, engaged (feminist but not exclusively so), and often playful... Jeanne Cherhal has a contagious energy, and she proves it once again in this new album, an anthem to a fulfilling forties, this beautiful 'An 40' whose vibrations she explores and whose vitality she celebrates.
Recorded between Paris and Los Angeles, featuring a Gospel choir and the magnificent drummers Jim Keltner (Neil Young, Steely Dan, John Lennon.) and Matt Chamberlain (Fiona Apple, Elvis Costello.), 'L'An 40' is an album that is both intimate and epic, a declaration of independence, even rebirth, with eyes turned towards the horizon. Jeanne, naturally on piano, signed all the arrangements and entrusted the production to her collaborator Sébastien Hoog, who had already produced the album 'Histoire de J'.
