Vinyl Story par Loustal

Description

Film noir is the heir of hardboiled detective novels and gangster films. Beginning in the 1920s, Dashiell Hammett created a new, more rhythmic, syncopated, dense, and enigmatic narrative style for investigative stories. Cinema took over the detective narrative, and from then on, cinema and noir novels enriched each other with their narrative techniques: dark atmosphere, high-contrast black and white imagery, eroticism, deconstruction of narrative time, voice-overs, and sharp, concise dialogue. The genre appealed to audiences, who were fascinated by the scandalous worlds, luxury, sex, violence, and eroticism of gangster women. Film noir was a success because it was a condensation of unacknowledged desires. Illustration by Loustal
