Grammy-nominated author, producer, DJ, ecotoxicologist, and activist Jayda G is set to return with her new album, "Guy."
The album arrives after a busy few years, which have seen her nominated for a Grammy (for her single "Both Of Us," created with producer Fred again…); release a wealth of high-profile remixes for artists including Taylor Swift and Dua Lipa; tour the world's biggest festivals and stages including Glastonbury and Coachella; release a compilation for the esteemed DJ Kicks series and a highly-praised collaboration with Aluna; guest judge on the BBC’s "Glow Up"; marry her childhood sweetheart in her hometown of Grand Forks, British Columbia (in the same house her parents married in decades earlier); and contribute to the "Undercurrent" immersive installation (NYC, June 21) which focused on the climate crisis, alongside artists such as Khruangbin, Nosaj Thing, Mount Kimbie, and Bon Iver.
The new album "Guy" more than ever puts Jayda's voice and words front and center, across 13 tracks that draw from her House, Disco, RnB, and Soul roots while highlighting her pop songwriting sensibilities, interspersed with archival recordings of her late father, the eponymous William Richard Guy.
