Description

With Belong, Melina Duterte aka Jay Som returns five years after Anak Ko. Inspired by her teenage memories and her experience as a producer, the 11-track album explores belonging through a mix of power pop, dreamy ballads, and electronic experiments. For the first time, Jay Som invites artists dear to her journey: Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World), Hayley Williams, and Lexi Vega (Mini Trees). These collaborations reflect her desire to open her music to other trusted voices. In the meantime, Duterte has established herself as a recognized producer, working with Lucy Dacus, boygenius (with a Grammy to show for it), and taking on numerous studio projects. Belong thus marks both a long-awaited return and a new creative chapter.
