Contrabandista

Description

The Mexican tenor Javier Camarena presents his first recording 'Contrabandista' where he explores the life and music of the legendary Manuel García. This selection includes works by the Spanish tenor, including three arias recorded for the first time in the world, as well as some pieces by Rossini and Zingarelli. Camarena is joined for a duet by Cecilia Bartoli, his mentor. Indeed, this album inaugurates a series of recordings produced by Cecilia Bartoli under the label "Decca Classics - mentored by Bartoli". The production of this album combines support for this extremely talented tenor and research conducted around a key figure in the history of music, Manuel García. Camarena also benefits from the brilliant collaboration of the recently formed ensemble 'Les Musiciens du Prince - Monaco', a valuable addition to the early music ensembles, and its conductor, Gianluca Capuano.
