A discreet but essential figure in the French underground, Jaromil Sabor has been carving out a constantly evolving niche in artisanal pop for nearly ten years. As early as 2012, his first album Marmalade Sculpture, a synthesis of delicate folk and poetic pop, revealed an obsession with the finesse of arrangements combined with lo-fi production. Over the course of his records, Jaromil Sabor meticulously explores various facets of pop: highly orchestrated on La Santa Roja (2014), which confirms his taste for luxury craftsmanship; energetic on III, which verges on garage rock (2016); twee and focused on the 90s on Second Science (2018); minimalist and folk on The Sun Inside (2021). Step by step, record after record, Jaromil patiently stacks the bricks of a spontaneous and generous body of work, one that disregards trends and fads. In July 2021, Jaromil Sabor makes his return with Mount Vision, an ambitious album that took nearly three years to gestate. Again written, recorded, and produced by himself, this new album synthesizes a universe sketched out over the years and solidifies his ability to offer luminous pop songs with demanding songwriting and silky arrangements.
