Sonic innovator Jamie Lidell releases his new eponymous album, a distillation of his sonic foundations, where 2010’s Compass collaborations are replaced by a purely 'Lidell-esque' approach – eleven tracks demonstrating the music man and machine can make together. Known for bringing together diverse musical influences, Jamie Lidell cites Mtume, Cameo, New Jack Swing, Bobby Brown, and George Clinton as inspirations for his new release. The self-produced album was recorded and mixed in Jamie's studio, now based in Nashville, a new step in his journey that has seen him leave his hometown in the heart of England for the musical cradles of Berlin and New York. Lidell thus continues his geographical, sonic, and electronic exploration, even transforming himself into a digital, geometric, and multi-coloured icon!
