THE BRITISH SINGER PRESENTS HIS NEW STUDIO ALBUM. The time when James Vincent McMorrow was considered a folk singer-songwriter seems very distant. In a decade of career, the Irish artist has carved out a prominent place as a musician and producer capable of transcending genres, from R&B to soul and even hip hop (he had actually worked with Drake on his album "Views" in 2016) while remaining independent. Back this year with "Grapefruit Season," his new album, McMorrow is determined to make no concessions. Supported by Paul Epworth (producer of Adele, Florence and the Machine, Coldplay...), he finished recording this fifth effort in his studio in north London. "Life is chaotic, no one has control over it and there is no big revelation. But there is magic," declares McMorrow, and that is the whole idea behind "Grapefruit Season," which takes shape through delicate acoustic pieces, dancehall hits, and R&B ballads. With its second single "I Should Go," it seems that James Vincent McMorrow is indeed back with mastery.
