La Gaîté parisienne

Description

The ballet Gaieté Parisienne was created on April 5, 1938, by the Ballets de Monte-Carlo with choreography by Léonid Massine. The conductor and composer Manuel Rosenthal had to undertake a real "patchwork" job to select various musical excerpts suitable for choreography and dance. The ballet features the most famous themes of the composer: La Vie parisienne, Orphée aux Enfers, La Belle Hélène, and even the illustrious Barcarolle from Les Contes d'Hoffmann as a bonus. Humor, charm, rhythm, and melody: the sparkling and fiery spirit of Offenbach is present! Manuel Rosenthal clearly enjoys reuniting with the Orchestre de Monte-Carlo.
