Invitation

Description

Invitation is the third album by Jaco Pastorius, released in 1983 while the genius bassist was still performing with Weather Report. It was recorded live over several dates during a Japanese tour alongside his "Word of Mouth" Big Band. While his first album Jaco Pastorius (MOVLP136) showcased all his talent on the electric bass, Invitation focuses more on his ability to arrange his music for a larger ensemble. The accompanying band features a high-caliber cast including Randy Brecker, Bobby Mintzer, Toots Thielemans, Peter Erskine, Othello Molineaux, and Don Alias.
