Description

In Abyss Nemet, the material and the imaginary of the deep sea serve as a creative foundation. The stubborn melody of Thermocline, functioning as an uninterrupted mechanical march before explosively breaking free onto a new noisy plane, simulates this thermal transition zone between waters. The rhythmic holding of Coelacanth, like its final improvised deconstruction, interprets the deadly adventures that animated the quest of men eager to encounter the ancestral fish. The rage of Turritopsis Nutricula, stylized by surf music and abrasive punk, playfully evokes the almost magical ability of this jellyfish to reverse its aging process. At the heart of Mungume, Lucien Dubuis's bass clarinet adds to the sonic grandeur of electric effects to imitate the cry of whales. Within the interstices of these compositions, fragments of long free improvisations, to which Regula Schwab's baroque violin has been added, intermingle. This is what the compositions of Abyss Nemet depict.
