The new album by the Finnish Melodic Death Metal band Insomnium takes shape in 1997, in Joensuu, Finland, when 4 young talents join forces to create a band that is both melodic and yet abrasive, and that would not shy away from the richness of atmospheres. Influenced notably by In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and Opeth, the band marries the Scandinavian sound with its Finnish roots that sometimes evoke Amorphis. Insomnium is definitely grand.
