{"product_id":"innov-gnawa_lila_2021","title":"Lila","description":"Daptone Records presents Lila, the new studio album by Innov Gnawa, a Grammy-nominated group from 2018. Formed in New York by Moroccan expatriates, Innov Gnawa stands out both locally and internationally thanks to their hypnotic concerts. The group is led by Ma’alem Hassan Ben Jaffar, an exceptional musician who plays the three-string African bass called guembri. Ben Jaffar is accompanied by a brotherhood of musicians including Amino Belyamani, Ahmed Jeriouda, Samir Langus, and Nawfal Atiq, all of whom play the qraqeb, metal castanets that represent the chains and shackles of slaves, and sing in unison. Gnawa music is a spiritual tradition rooted in the history of Morocco. Also known as Sufi blues, the African influence of gnawa originates from West African slaves brought to Morocco centuries ago. Like the blues in the southern United States, gnawa music is revered in Morocco as a treasure of indigenous soul music. Spotted by gnawa music enthusiast producer Bosco Mann, Innov Gnawa was invited to record a few tracks at the Daptone House of Soul, where the group spent five hours recording in a single take the equivalent of what would become the album Lila. The album title, which translates to \"night,\" refers to a traditional ceremony that lasts all night, a spiritual ritual aimed at purifying the body, soul, and spirit. Daptone Records invites listeners today to immerse themselves in Lila, to discover freedom, liberation, and the healing power of music. The CD version includes two bonus tracks.","brand":"Innov Gnawa","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58239979553112,"sku":null,"price":20210501.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0823134005624.jpg?v=1787438365","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/innov-gnawa_lila_2021","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
