The record is produced by Jim Noir, whose sonic fingerprints sculpt the raw materials into a strange pop opus. Noir is also releasing the record on his Dook Recordings label, and played drums and backing vocals on several tracks.\n\nIndian Pale Male - Ground Dirt\n\nRecorded by McIlroy's longtime friend and musical associate Big A, the songs are laden with cracked harmonies and homemade instrumentation, including found materials used as percussion. The duo drew on the talents of fellow travellers for backing vocals and rhythm tracks, leading to the live formation becoming a trio, with Ben Price (bass) and Charlie Garson (drums) coming onboard.\n\nCommenting on the writing process, McIlroy explains:\n\n“It was written during a period of madness and offensive behaviour. The songs switch between themes, and reflect the erroneous beliefs we cling to when our perceived realities are threatened.
