Gastwerk Saboteurs

Description

Imperial Wax consists of members who played in the legendary post-punk band The Fall: drummer Keiron Melling, bassist Dave "The Eagle" Spurr, and guitarist Pete Greenway. They played with The Fall for 11 years and recorded six studio albums alongside Mark E. Smith. They are now releasing their debut album, Gastwerk Saboteurs. After the death of The Fall's singer and founder, Mark E. Smith, the remaining band members received many offers to continue playing under the name "The Fall" with new vocalists. Reluctant to tarnish Smith's legacy, the musicians decided to form their own band, named Imperial Wax in honor of their first album with Smith, Imperial Wax Solvent. With Sam Curran as vocalist, Imperial Wax was able to immediately begin work on Gastwerk Saboteurs, aided by producer Mat Arnold (The Fall, Noisettes, The Coral, Peter Gabriel). While the spirit of The Fall is still present, the band has undoubtedly succeeded in forging a new path for their music, whose consistently dense and noisy atmosphere is slightly more melodic and punk.
