Martines: L'intégrale des oeuvres pour clavier presents the first complete modern recording of the surviving keyboard music of Marianna Martines (1744-1812), composer, keyboard virtuoso, and a major figure in 18th-century Viennese musical life. Admired in her lifetime for her brilliance both as a performer and as a composer, Martines occupied a central place within the city's most prestigious musical circles. Yet her instrumental music has remained largely absent from the discographic repertoire. Under the direction of Cayenna Ponchione-Bailey, with pianist Idith Meshulam Korman and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, this release brings together Martines's four surviving keyboard concertos, three sonatas, and her Symphony in C major, recorded from new critical editions. These works reveal a composer with an ambitious writing style intended for the public stage, combining a pronounced vocal lyricism with striking technical demands, a rich orchestral imagination, and a playful sense of form. Conceived as a major project both interpretative and rediscovery-oriented, this recording restores Martines's keyboard music to the classical canon as an essential and captivating corpus.
