The third studio album by Holy Motors, Heaven's Night, combines the dreamlike landscapes typical of the American West, a trademark of the band, with catchy pop choruses and new wave textures that open new horizons for the Estonian group. Notably, there is a new softness in the selection of tracks from Heaven's Night, which features characters moving away from the grim sunsets and melancholy of the backcountry of Horse, released in 2020. As the band itself says, their new sound is "sweet as flowing honey, sad as summer rain." Without a doubt, Heaven's Night is Holy Motors' most varied album to date. From the wild gallop of "The Last Ones" to the flagship pop track "Hellishly Hot," Heaven's Night offers a new perspective on the band's universe, a universe that is a little less haunted and a little more dangerous.
