Holly Golightly began her musical career as a founding member of the all-female garage band Thee Headcoatees, under the guidance of Billy Childish for the label Sympathy For The Record Industry, which is known for its cheeky covers of Teenage Kicks and... Ça Plane Pour Moi. Without leaving the band, Holly released her first solo album, The Good Things, in 1995, the first of a long series. Without Thee Headcoatees, Holly is less garage and more blues, even folk and rock. And she will continue to specialize in sharp covers (Willie Dixon, Ike Turner, Lee Hazelwood, Wreckless Eric, Bill Withers...) Since 1995, Holly has not stopped for a second. She is now on her tenth solo album, not to mention the singles, and her ninth tour, and her music has never lost quality. While building a well-identifiable sound, Holly never releases two identical albums, and each has its own uniqueness. After accompanying the White Stripes on several of their concerts, both in the USA and London, Holly became a good friend of Jack and Meg and recorded a duet with them, It's True That We Love One Another, on the album Elephant. She has also sung on stage with Mudhoney, and recorded with the bands Rocket From The Crypt and The Greenhornes. Finally available for the first time on vinyl, the CD compilation My First Holly Golightly is a compilation of 14 tracks inspired by Holly Golightly's live show as it was at the time. This compilation features Holly's favorite tracks from her first album The Good Things in 1995 to the album Slowly but Surely.
