Hollie Cook
Description
The summer of 2011 saw the release of Hollie Cook's first self-titled album. Her style, which she herself describes as "tropical pop," draws inspiration from her passion for reggae singers Janet Kay and Phyllis Dillon, as well as iconic girl groups from the 60s. The album is produced by her friend and collaborator Mike Pelanconi, better known as Prince Fatty. The first single, "That Very Night," is currently a hit on the airwaves, and counts among its many supporters Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 2/6 Music), John Kennedy (XFM) and David Rodigan (Kiss). The album includes a cover of "(Remember) Walkin' In The Sand" by the Shangri-Las, a revisited version of a dark and moving song, imbued with hope. It also features the talents of Omar, Dennis Bovell, George Decker (The Pioneers), Style Scott and Horseman.Buy Hollie Cook at the best price
