Hoa Queen is a flower from elsewhere. Its whiteness explodes in the dead of night, only to disappear at dawn. Dazzling, ephemeral, it offers its beauty only to be lost instantly. Its petals will never taste the dew. Hoa Queen is a woman, or all of them, or many of them. The one who screams her pain, the one who spits her anger, the one who dreams with open eyes. An army of wounded souls, of broken bodies moving gracefully through the scarlet night. A procession of damaged figures finding the strength to vibrate and dance with the intensity of despair. Marjorie, waiting for death in a hallway, Lucia, selling her body on sidewalks, Aileen, stalking her prey to lure them into a thicket, Lizzie, Willow, Betty... Hoa Queen tells their stories, writes them on skin and strings. Five musicians who have played here and there, together and separately. Five musicians driven by the breath of these broken women, all attuned to the emotional pitch, balancing on a sensitive string to deliver music that comes from far away, smelling of cotton, mud, sun and night, tears and blood.
