Mélancolie FC for Mélancolie Football Club. Like a childhood photograph, a tenacious and intense memory synonymous with a sudden change in life. Hervé grew up in Fontenay - a suburb caught between Trappes and Versailles. He had to give up his dreams of becoming a footballer after a serious injury and fell into the electronic music of Larry Heard, Daft Punk, or LCD Soundsystem and tried his hand at beatmaking. Three years ago, Hervé crossed paths with Dennis Brown with whom he created Postaal, a Franco-English electro-pop duo, acclaimed in France and across the Channel. It was during a break between two tours with his family in Brittany that he recalled the excitement of his first concert - as a child with his father - in front of Jacques Higelin at La Fête de l’Huma. He took action shortly after by trying to sing for the first time in French on his new productions. Hervé, 26, sensitive, dark, and tormented, multiplies in this first EP the chiaroscuro and delivers his soul in thousands of fragments, in introspective mantras with catchy choruses, not hesitating to sometimes let the rhythm take precedence over meaning. Because for him, rhythm is also meaning. Sounds are words. Mélancolie FC, a first EP of electronic song.
