While the public mainly knows her as the sister of legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin and his privileged musical partner (they first performed together in public when she was 13 and he was 17), Hephzibah had a rich career in recital and concerto. This tribute box set 9CD+2DVD, conceived by the great director Bruno Monsaingeon, contains not only historical recordings with Yehudi but also precious unreleased tracks that shed new light on her immense talent. The distinguished French filmmaker organized this 11-disc box set (9 CD and 2 DVD), covering the years 1933 to 1980, the year preceding Hephzibah Menuhin's death at the age of 60. Containing a substantial proportion of world premiere releases - live performances and television interviews - Hephzibah Menuhin: 'Tribute' documents the pianist in her familiar role as duo partner to her brother and sheds new light on her prowess as a recitalist and concerto soloist. It also provides fascinating insights into her life, her relationship with Yehudi, and her humanitarian beliefs and activities.
