Looking for "Serious Music". Scott Bradley is an American composer of cartoon music (Tex Avery) who used Arnold Schoenberg's concepts in his compositions of "funny music", as he himself defined it. Contemporary music, usually serious, integrated into music where humor is the main subject gives a particular interest to listening to these compositions without watching the cartoons. Henri Roger asked Eric-Maria Couturier, Emilie Lesbros and Bruno Tocanne to listen separately to a selection of 6 themes by Scott Bradley and to spend some time with them. It was not about replaying or imitating them but about letting this music enter a little into each of our modes of expression. We then met up in the studio to record a set of improvisations where humor, like music, is free and shared according to each musician's perceptions.
