Einojuhani Rautavaara would have celebrated his 90th birthday on October 9, 2018. Until the end of his career, he composed countless works in many different musical styles, including eight symphonies, several concertos and operas, and a large number of vocal works and chamber music. Most of them have been recorded by Ondine. This new album includes a reissue of the Eighth Symphony, composed for the centenary of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and his Harp Concerto written for the Minnesota Orchestra.
