For this fourth album, the European quintet Hélène Duret Synestet invites Nils Wogram on trombone. An unprecedented meeting to enrich the musical and sonic vision of the group formed nine years ago. Much passion, great friendship, a group sound and playing styles shaped by the benefit of time passing. In reference to synesthesia, the album "Perception" is an intimate nod to our often very different ways of seeing, or perceiving, reality. Synestet appeals to the senses, expresses, plays, improvises; the perception of music becomes a blend of colors, smells, shapes, textures. Six musicians based between Belgium, Germany and France, crazy about improvisation, thirsty for play and musical expression, slip between the lines to form a homogeneous sonic bubble. Between Ornette Coleman, Jimmy Giuffre, Duke Ellington, Jakob Bro or Timber Timbre, initiated by clarinetist and composer Hélène Duret, this unprecedented meeting offers open music that champions simplicity and inventiveness. Initiated by French clarinetist and composer Hélène Duret, Synestet is originally a Franco-Belgian quintet born in Brussels in 2018, which has released three albums on the Igloo records label. Thanks to the participation of BOZAR Brussels, the Jazz sous les pommiers festival in Coutances, the Igloo records label and the company La Nageuse, the quintet becomes a resolutely European sextet with the addition of Nils Wogram on trombone, who joins the team as a special guest.
