Description

Heinz Holliger, famous oboist, composer, and Swiss conductor, who will celebrate his 80th birthday in 2019, is recording the complete symphonies of Franz Schubert until the fall of 2019. The recording cycle will also include many other instrumental works such as overtures, dances, or vocal works transcribed for orchestra. In total, five volumes will be available until the fall of 2020. This first volume is dedicated to the "9th symphony" of Schubert but also includes some rarities such as the overture and the melodrama from "The Enchanted Harp," recited by Holliger himself.
