"De Ti Depende" is the second solo album by legendary salsa singer Héctor Lavoe, released in 1976 on the Fania Records label. This album marked a turning point in his career, as he established himself as the leader of his own orchestra. Lavoe showcased his talent for Afro-Caribbean rhythms and bolero themes, with flagship tracks such as "Periódico de Ayer," "Hacha y Machete," and "Vamos a Reír un Poco."
Born in Puerto Rico, Lavoe moved to New York to pursue a musical career, facing many challenges as an immigrant. Discovered by Johnny Pacheco, he formed an iconic duo with Willie Colón, producing ten remarkable albums. "De Ti Depende" has now been reissued on 180-gram vinyl, from the original master tapes.
This record is a masterpiece of Lavoe's musical legacy, celebrated during Fania's 60th anniversary.
