{"product_id":"heather-woods-broderick_labyrinth_2023_mdl","title":"Labyrinth","description":"Through Labyrinth, Heather Woods Broderick is our thoughtful host, upending expectations of conventional song with impressionistic language and quietly continuous explorations of the human experience that are both dark and light, more circular and less linear. The album is a collection of sonic and sung poems that vibrate with trip-hop elements, realist songcraft, with occasional bursts of electro-pop grandeur. It is also her most rudimentary set of songs to date, reflecting a natural and conscious progression towards more exposure in her music, with her gentle voice and the immediate essence of the songs for listeners. Heather began working on Labyrinth in 2020. The Maine-bred, Los Angeles-based songwriter – who, in addition to her work as a solo musician, has also built a career playing and touring with Sharon Van Etten, Beth Orton, Damien Jurado and Efterklang – was suddenly forced off the road for the first time in her career. She used the disruption to lighten her creative process, and to construct the framework for Labyrinth in her apartment, capturing the majority of the album herself, before finishing the rest with D. James Goodwin. Despite Heather’s wise lyricism and vocal authority, Labyrinth never gives easy answers to the listener. If the image of the labyrinth represents the enormity of modern life and the difficulty of navigating it, Heather Woods Broderick provides a guide to its cinematic wonders – to be present, conscious, and connected despite its disconnections.","brand":"Heather Woods Broderick","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55311924822360,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0843563154649.jpg?v=1760406349","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/heather-woods-broderick_labyrinth_2023_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
