Description

Me And My Shadow is the first LP by the Hawaiian Pistoleros. It follows When Evening Is Nigh, an EP nominated for an AWAAward (Academy of Western Artists, USA) in 2016. The sextet thus continues its original and rare musical offering on the French scene, blending Western Swing, so-called "Hawaiian" music, and the beginnings of Rock 'n' roll... Far from the beaten path, the Hawaiian Pistoleros traverse "their" America, an imaginary continent somewhere between Paris, Texas, and Twin Peaks: To the sound of the steel guitar and ukulele, one can encounter the ghosts of Bob Wills and Milton Brown, the lanky silhouette of Hank Williams, and the shadow of Gram Parsons... But by listening closely, one can also distinguish languid echoes of the Pacific, and if one hears the whistle of a train in the distance, it can only be the "Mystery Train" celebrated in its time by the King himself...
