"The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a six-part television mini-series from 2024 based on the international bestselling novel by Heather Morris, inspired by the true story of Holocaust prisoners Lali and Gita Sokolov. The story follows a man, Lali, a Slovak Jew, who was deported to Auschwitz in 1942, the concentration camp where over a million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. Shortly after his arrival, Lali was appointed as one of the Tätowierer (tattooists), responsible for inking identification numbers on the arms of his fellow inmates. One day, he met Gita while tattooing her prisoner number on her arm, leading to a love that defies the horrors surrounding them. The cast includes Harvey Keitel, Melanie Lynskey, Jonah Hauer-King, and Anna Próchniak. The series' music was composed by the multiple Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and Kara Talve. The soundtrack also features the brand new song "Love Will Survive" by global music icon Barbra Streisand. The series' music received 2 nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards, in the categories of "Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics" and "Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score)."
