{"product_id":"hannes-lingens_nachtlund_2022_soc","title":"Nachtlund","description":"Nachthund marks the second solo release by Hannes Lingens on Umlaut Records, following Pieces for Percussion (2018). Like its predecessor, Nachthund favors continuous sounds over percussive accents: \"Nacht\" is a montage of pre-recorded layers of rolling and brushing sounds primarily, while \"Hund\" and \"Manatee\" were recorded in a single take, using a cymbal played with mallets in one and with a double bass bow in the other. Close-miking techniques and very soft playing are used throughout the album to explore the sounds from inside the bodies of the instruments. With microphone sensitivity turned up to the maximum, the recording had to take place at night to avoid any outside noise. On \"Hund\", a dog can be heard barking deep within the wave of the bowed cymbal, adding a sense of real space to music that—due to its disorienting dynamics and lack of rhythmic accentuation—otherwise offers little orientation. Hannes Lingens is a drummer and accordionist based in Halle (Saale) and Berlin. He focuses primarily on the intersection between improvised and composed forms of experimental music. Alongside long-term collaborations with Félicie Bazelaire, Pierre Borel, Hannes Buder, Johnny Chang... he has also worked with improvisers such as Toshimaru Nakamura, Christof Kurzmann, Olaf Rupp, and John Tilbury. As a performer, he has collaborated with Peter Ablinger, Philip Corner, Phil Niblock, and Chiyoko Szlavnics among others. He is also a composer himself.","brand":"Hannes Lingens","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57447854834008,"sku":null,"price":20221007.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3341348163932.jpg?v=1780612392","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/hannes-lingens_nachtlund_2022_soc","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
