Hank Williams was a star on WSM's Grand Ole Opry when he began hosting his own radio show for the same station in 1951. Sponsored by the Mother's Best Flour Company, the 15-minute show aired every weekday. Many of these shows were actually pre-recorded transcription discs made specifically for the show, which were aired and then forgotten. On February 21, 2020, BMG will release Hank Williams' "Only Mother's Best," an all-new 3LP set on 180-gram black vinyl featuring songs never before heard on the "Mother's Best" radio transcriptions - no other studio or live versions were ever recorded by Hank - these songs are truly "Only Mother's Best"! Produced by the Grammy Award-winning Hank Williams team of music producer Cheryl Pawelski and audio engineer Michael Graves, it also features new liner notes written by Grammy Award winner and Hank Williams expert Colin Escott.
