A mixed and organic jazz, Hadouk celebrates life and the cultures of the world in a dreamlike and captivating musical language for two decades. Foundational elements of the Hadouk sound, the Hajouj of Loy Ehrlich and the duduk of Didier Malherbe, have forged the group's unmistakable sonic identity. Initially a duo, then a trio with Steve Shehan (percussion), the group became a quartet in 2013 after the departure of the latter and the arrival of Eric Löhrer (guitar) and Jean-Luc Di Fraya (percussion and vocals). Hadouk always promises a poetic journey between the East (from gnawa rhythms to Arabic maqams), the West (from rock to American black music), the North (from Celtic music to Sino-Japanese melodies), and the South (from Malian blues to ancestral trances). The ensemble takes us on a new ecstatic tale with Le cinquième fruit.
