Before establishing itself as one of the most unique bands in the American independent scene, Gun Outfit distributed its first songs on handmade cassettes sold during its tours in 2009 and 2010. Reissued in 2026, Early Tapes Vol. 1 brings together these foundational recordings, along with several previously unreleased tracks, reflecting a period when the band favored instinct, urgency, and a deliberately raw aesthetic. Recorded in Olympia in makeshift locations with Adam Croce, then enriched by the successive contributions of drummers Reuben Storey and Daniel Swire, these sessions reveal a songwriting already assertive behind their apparent roughness. Fully remastered by Tim Green at Louder Studios, this album benefits from its very first vinyl edition, pressed in 500 copies on L.G. Records.
