Description

In just under 4 years, the fervent torchbearers of old-school death metal Gruesome (with past and present members of Exhumed, Possessed, Malevolent Creation) have earned a reputation as one of the best bands on the scene. For their second album, after releasing a pair of EPs, Gruesome re-adopts Death's Spiritual Healing formula, incorporating a more cerebral sound, elaborate melodic parts, thrash elements, and socially conscious lyrics. Recorded with producer Jarrett Pritchard (Exhumed, 1349, Goatwhore) at New Constellation Studios in Orlando, Twisted Prayers sees Gruesome do what they do best across 8 tracks in 40 minutes. The cover art is once again by the legendary Ed Repka (Death, Atheist, Massacre). We note the presence of James Murphy's guitar (Death, Obituary, Testament) for some well-placed solos.
