Grizzly Bear - Chris Bear, Ed Droste, Daniel Rossen, and Chris Taylor - spent no less than two years building "Painted Ruins." Taylor produced the album at Allaire Studios in New York, as well as in Los Angeles, notably at his own Terrible Studios. "Painted Ruins" follows "Shields" (2012), which was a critical and commercial success.
