Description

GRIO is back in the galaxy of liberated music, the kind that connects with diverse humanity and its boundless capacity for spiritual escape. Its new repertoire extends this movement with "Totem." The Grand Impérial Orchestra invokes spirits by bringing together some rare gems from the vast jazz landscape. Centered around the Cie Imperial, GRIO's members have all proven themselves in composed or improvisational epics... The horn players Gérald Chevillon and Damien Sabatier, and the rhythm section Joachim Florent and Antonin Leymarie, are at the heart of this fusion. With Totem, they further open the door to the creative and virtuoso freedom of Aymeric Avice, Simon Girard, and Frédéric Roudet (brass), and Aki Rissanen (piano). Through body and spirit, this hybrid entity issues a new invitation to a cosmic wander, with jazz as its vehicle.
