For the writing, it is in his thirst for commitment and in his own experience that Grégory Turpin drew inspiration. Contrary to a society that throws itself into consumption to avoid reflecting on the meaning of life, the artist offers, in small touches, a more demanding path: a call to engage, to step out of oneself to go towards others. At the source of this commitment is God, to whom he addresses in the background throughout the album and whose radical experience he has had in his life. Committed for years to helping homeless people and young people in the Church, the artist has also felt called to meet and support Christians in Iraq who have been driven from their homes by the Islamic State and its accompanying barbarities. Two trips to the area during which he sings in the displaced persons camps allow him to get to know them better and to raise awareness among the French about their plight.
