If the Sun Dies, whose title comes from a novel by Oriana Fallaci, is a Weeks album through and through: poetic and cryptic lyrics set to melancholic melodies, played on acoustic guitar and embellished with the analog instruments he has always cherished (Hammond organ, mellotron, Mini-Moog, and effects guitars). However, the album seems to mark a break, a maturation in both its content and its approach, despite its many echoes of the past.
