It only takes a few seconds of exposure to the rolling riffs of opening track "Tom Cruise Control" to be reminded that this is Gozu’s world, and we’re just living in it. Five years after the release of the monstrous ‘Equilibrium’, the Boston quartet return with ‘Remedy’, one hell of a way to make sure everyone realizes they might be the most badass American rock band going, as they’ve taken everything to the next level. "There's a certain maturity mixed with a childlike excitement to play music, and we all play better now than we did on Equilibrium," says singer/guitarist Marc Gaffney. "We all tried to look at what we like, but more importantly what we don't like. Playing music is a gift and when it becomes "A Nightmare On Elm St Part 37.3," it's over.” The result is nine tracks of their characteristic combination of fuzzy 70’s inspired riffs, rich, catchy grunge vocal melodies and a touch of old school trippy psychedelia, written and played with the utmost passion and excitement, eclipsing everything else in their catalogue. "The band wanted a very heavy, groove-oriented record, with sing-along choruses. We also wanted the sound to hit you in the chest, like a left-right-left three-punch combination, like Micky Ward. The harmonies and melodies were things we really looked at and wanted to shine, and the thick guitar sounds and bass and drums are dialed in."
