Bach: Sonatas for Violin and Continuo

Johann Sebastian Bach seems to have always been interested in chamber music: son of a musician and father of a large family, family practice took an important place in daily life. It is known that he composed a number of works for this repertoire, some of which are now scattered, and the research to try to locate them has brought to light many uncertain compositions, sometimes difficult to authenticate. Gottfried von der Goltz brings together here some of these atypical and lesser-known pieces, such as the sonatas for violin and continuo BWV 1021, 1023, 1024 and the Fugue BWV 1026, which we rediscover here with joy. The recording also includes the Sonata in A major long attributed to Bach, but since linked to the production of Telemann, as well as an anonymous sonata in C minor, dating from the 1720s.
