Siamo tutti in pericolo is the third album by Golem Mecanique, the moniker of French multi-instrumentalist composer Karen Jebane, to be released on Ideologic Organ. Karen Jebane works the fringes of contemporary folk (aka La Novea community), microtonal, and early modern spheres, while touching on the ash and fibers of black metal and the DNA of goth music, literature, witchcraft, and, above all, poetry. Karen’s work with the 'drone box' (a mechanized hurdy-gurdy) and zither as a smooth, undulating bedrock for her singing is immediately evident, in an almost ceremonial manner, inviting a chiaroscuro creative-beauty space. On Siamo tutti in pericolo, Karen works her compositional forms in a new manner, with a poetic and pared-down execution of her techniques, through her tributes/anthems/meditations on the highly irregular circumstances and questions/mysteries surrounding the disappearance of artist Pier Paolo Pasolini.
