The Outland

Description

PRESENTING THE NEW ALBUM 'THE OUTLAND' BY THE VIRTUOSO IAMTHEMORNING PIANIST GLEB KOLYADIN. This is The Outland - a world within a world, assembled from disparate fragments. Kolyadin has created a universe, escaping from the turbulence of the everyday & viewing the world through introspection. The rich, warm textures comfort the listener, while structurally the track-listing is built on the principle of a symphonic suite of six movements, with a short intermission in the centre - makingfor an ideal vinyl listening experience. The entire album loop, allowing the listener to be immersed into Kolyadin's new dimension. Stylistically, Kolyadin plays with genre - shifting between classical piano, jazz-rock & fusion with echoes of Pat Metheny & Hiromi, Steve Reich's minimalism, British folk, cinematic soundtracks & references to 1970's-80's progressive rock in the vein of Gong & Mike Oldfield. The artwork, meanwhile, designed by Andhika Ramadahian, portrays a hermit, trapped in a geometrically paradoxical space, symbolising the turbulent times 'The Outland' was written in. Featuring Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree/King Crimson) on drums, Tony Levin (King Crimson/Peter Gabriel) on upright bass & Vlad Avy on guitars, the instrumental opus was recorded in private studios across the globe between Summer 2021 & January 2022. 'The Outland' allows the listener to dive into a world of positive escapism - Gleb Kolyadin's instrumental world will leave you recharged, zen & comforted.
