Girl is the second album from North London band Girl Ray. Recorded at Electric Beach Studios in Margate with Ash Workman (Christine and the Queens, Metronomy), this album is an enchanted and sunny tribute to their love of pop and R&B. The three band members, Poppy Hankin, Iris McConnell and Sophie Moss, shared a taste of the album with the release of the excellent single "Show Me More". The video was directed by Crusoe Weston and shows the three young women cycling through the city at dusk. Girl Ray is a retranscription of the impenetrable and impressive humour of a group of girls. Among the album's smile-inducing, frenetic and intensely brave tracks are also superbly composed piano ballads imbued with sadness and love. Girl is expertly crafted pop music, created by dedicated artists whose mission is to make music for people to fully enjoy. Music to love, to dance to. Messages of joy and love, friendship and life, like some of the best songwriters who came before them.
