The HAYDN2032 Edition celebrates the release of the 10th volume of the complete collection of Haydn's 107 Symphonies... Titled The Hours of the Day, this program is dedicated to Symphonies Nos. 6, 7, and 8, known as The Morning, The Noon, and The Evening. The latter ends with a tempest, featuring storms and thunderclaps... Prince Esterházy, the patron of the work, reportedly wanted to demonstrate to his guests that his orchestra was of great quality and that "his" Haydn was highly inventive... The orchestra of Giovanni Antonini, Il Giardino Armonico, once again rises to the challenge! This triptych around the course of the sun continues with the work of another composer, Mozart, and his Serenade in D major nicknamed Serenata notturna, probably written for a masked ball...
