An emblematic figure of the Australian indie and garage-rock scene, GIMMY unveils her new EP, Labour of Love - a raw and intense collection that blends indie rock, post-punk, and sensitive poetry, all carried by Gemma Owens' inimitable vibrato and writing of heartbreaking sincerity. While her first album, Things Look Different Now (2024), was an introspective and progressive journey spanning two to three years, Labour of Love strikes with unprecedented force: intuitive, immediate, and deeply rooted in Owens' emotional universe. Composed over six months and recorded in four or five intense days in the studio with producer Sam Joseph (King Gizzard), the EP pulses with the urgency of an experience to be lived and heard without delay. Across seven captivating tracks, GIMMY explores social anxiety, grief, love at first sight, and the chaotic beauty of everyday life, each song arriving "in its own way" - born from late-night writing sessions at home, fragments of inspiration gathered while traveling, and moments of collective energy.
