For Record Store Day 2014, the XL label unveiled "Nothing New", a collection of covers by Gil Scott-Heron of his greatest hits. These new interpretations, created by Richard Russell between 2005 and 2009, were recorded during the same sessions as “I’m New Here”, the last album by the poet-singer who passed away on May 27, 2011. It features poignant piano-vocal versions of tracks chosen from the period between the albums “Pieces Of A Man” (1971) and “The Other Side” (1994). "Nothing New" is now re-released, enriched with the documentary "Who Is Gil Scott-Heron?" directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, who also made the film “20,000 Days on Earth” about Nick Cave.
