This is how Siggi Loch defined the motto of the ACT label almost 25 years ago. The very first release of the label, \"Jazzpanã\", honored this philosophy and quickly became one of the emblematic titles of the catalog, receiving two Grammy Award nominations in the process. This album brought together Spanish stars of \"Nuevo Flamenco\" with American jazz musicians of the caliber of the late Michael Brecker, Peter Erskine, and Al Di Meola, supported by the arrangements of Vince Mendoza and the WDR Big Band. Renowned producer Arif Mardin (12 Grammy Awards to his credit!) added his touch to the project with a suite composed for the recording. In 2000, this album had a sequel, \"Jazzpanã II\", featuring Gerardo Nunez, Chano Dominguez, Jorge Pardo, Perico Sambeat, and once again Michael Brecker. Today, fifteen years after this second installment, ACT presents the \"Jazzpanã\" project in a concert version. This new chapter was recorded live during two events in October 2014 (Berlin) and January 2015 (Dortmund). The high-profile cast once again brings together the best of flamenco and jazz: guitarists Gerardo Nunez (one of Paco de Lucia's heirs) and Ulf Wakenius (well known for his collaboration with Youn Sun Nah) and Cuban pianist Ramon Valle. This trio interacts with the other musicians for a beautiful tribute to Andalusian and Hispanic music.
